Dialpad alternative

The Dialpad alternative that keeps the dialer in the seat

Dialpad sells three products, and which one you need changes the price a great deal. Dialpad Connect is the business phone at $27 or $35 a user and has no dialer in it. The power dialer lives in Dialpad Sell, which starts at $49 a user, and the things an outbound desk reaches for next - voicemail drop and local presence dialing - are on the $110 tier above that. Nothing in either product describes dialing more than one line at a time. The AI is genuinely the centre of what you are buying: live coaching, real-time objection guidance, recaps that write themselves into the CRM.

No card required. No seat minimum.

The short version

  • The dialer is not in the phone product. Dialpad Connect is $27 and $35 a user; the power dialer is part of Dialpad Sell, which starts at $49.
  • Voicemail drop and local presence dialing are on Dialpad Sell Advanced at $110 a user, not on the $49 entry tier.
  • No Dialpad page describes dialing more than one line at a time. smrtDialer runs up to four with AI voice detection.
  • Its CRM integrations are Salesforce-shaped. Left Main REI works because Left Main is built on Salesforce; Podio, DataSift, InvestorFuse, Realeflow, Invelo, Carrot, Tape and GoHighLevel are not covered.
  • Every Dialpad price above is the monthly rate. Their pricing page opens on the annual column - $15, $25, $39, $95 and $150 - so a quick look understates all of them by a fifth or more.

The other side

When Dialpad is the better choice

Dialpad sells three products - a business phone, an outbound product and a contact centre - from one vendor on one bill, and smrtPhone sells one seat for one job. And its AI is not a bolt-on - live coaching during the call, real-time objection guidance, recaps that write themselves into the CRM, scorecards and playbooks for managing a floor. smrtPhone offers none of that. If your reps need coaching more than they need lines, Dialpad is built for that and this is not.

  • You want real-time AI coaching and scorecards for a sales floor.
  • Your CRM is Salesforce or HubSpot, which is where their integration is strongest.
  • One line at a time is the pace your team works at.
  • You also want a business phone system and a contact centre from one vendor.
  • Local presence dialing matters enough to justify the $110 tier.

Why investor teams pick smrtPhone instead

  1. The dialer was a second purchase

Dialpad Connect is the phone system and has no dialer in it, so working a list means buying Dialpad Sell as well, from $49 a user. Then voicemail drop and local presence sit a tier above that at $110. smrtDialer is an add-on to the same $29 seat, at $50 or $90, and only the people who actually dial pay for it.

    Dialer from $50, per seat
  2. One line was the ceiling

Nothing Dialpad publishes describes dialing more than one number at a time - not on the power dialer page, not in any Sell tier. For a desk working a bought list, four lines with AI voice detection is a different rate of work, and it is the thing our own customers name most often.

One to four lines, from $50
  3. The CRM only worked if it was Salesforce

Dialpad integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot and Zendesk, and Left Main REI works through it because Left Main is built on Salesforce. Podio, DataSift, InvestorFuse, Realeflow, Invelo, Carrot, Tape and GoHighLevel are not covered, and for most investor teams one of those is the system of record.

What switching actually involves

Numbers port. Decide first what you are actually leaving: if the AI coaching is why your managers like Dialpad, smrtPhone does not replace that, and the honest comparison is lines and CRM coverage against coaching and real-time guidance.

  1. Port your numbers. They move with you. Nobody has to learn a new number.
  2. Connect the CRM. Calls, texts, recordings and dispositions start writing to the record.
  3. Rebuild your call flows. Routing, ring groups, business hours and the DNC applet.
  4. Run both for a few days. Then move the dialing over once the logging looks right.

How long the port really takes

  • Porting takes one to three weeks once the paperwork is in and confirmed. It is faster when your current provider sits on the same underlying carrier we do, and slower if the paperwork comes back rejected over a detail that does not match your carrier record.
  • Support does the work. You start it from live chat and the team handles the submission.
  • Do not cancel your old provider until the port completes. Your number keeps working throughout.
  • Occasionally voice ports a few hours before texting does. It settles by itself.

Questions people ask before switching

Does Dialpad have a power dialer?

Yes, but not in the phone product. Dialpad Connect, at $27 or $35 a user, has no dialer. The power dialer is part of Dialpad Sell, which starts at $49 a user a month, and voicemail drop and local presence dialing are on the Advanced tier above it at $110. smrtDialer is an add-on to the same $29 seat at $50 for a single line or $90 for up to four, with voicemail drops included.

How much does Dialpad cost?

It depends which of the three products you need. Dialpad Connect is $27 or $35 a user a month. Dialpad Sell, the outbound product with the dialer, is $49, $110 or $170. Those are the monthly rates; their pricing page opens on the annual column, where the same plans read $15, $25, $39, $95 and $150. smrtPhone is $29 a seat a month with smrtDialer at $50 or $90 for the people who dial, so one person dialing four lines is $119.

Does Dialpad dial more than one line at a time?

Nothing Dialpad publishes says so. Its power dialer page describes automating dialing and reducing manual work, and no Dialpad Sell tier mentions multi-line or parallel dialing. smrtDialer runs one to four lines with AI voice detection, which is a different pace when the list is long.

Does Dialpad integrate with my CRM?

With Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk and others. For investor teams the important nuance is that Left Main REI is built on Salesforce, so Dialpad reaches it that way - our own guide to Left Main says as much. Podio, DataSift, InvestorFuse, Realeflow, Invelo, Carrot, Tape and GoHighLevel are not covered. smrtPhone is native to all ten, with the call and the text written to the record.
