Nextiva alternative
The Nextiva alternative for teams that dial a list
Nextiva is a business phone system that has grown into a customer experience platform: voice, video, team chat, live chat, email, social and reviews on one bill, with a contact centre on the top plan. It serves a large installed base of companies that need exactly that. What it does not do is dial a list. No plan on its pricing page and no line on its contact centre page describes a power, auto or predictive dialer. Two other things matter to an outbound team: texting is capped at 100 messages a user on the entry plan, and the advertised prices need a twelve-month term.
No card required. No seat minimum.
The short version
- No Nextiva plan describes a power, auto or predictive dialer, and neither does its contact centre page. There is nothing to move up to for working a list.
- Texting is capped per user per month: 100 on Core, 500 on Engage, unlimited on Scale. A smrtPhone seat includes 1,000 segments, then $0.02.
- On Core, customers texting your team back is an add-on, as is call recording and a 1-800 number.
- The advertised $15, $25 and $75 are annual rates. Their own footnote limits them to new customers with 1 to 100 employees signing a paid twelve-month or longer term. Monthly is $23 and $50.
- Of the investor CRMs, only GoHighLevel appears among roughly thirty integrations. Podio, DataSift, Left Main REI, InvestorFuse, Realeflow, Invelo, Carrot and Tape do not.

The other side
When Nextiva is the better choice
Nextiva is the broader product, and for most companies that is the right trade. Unlimited calling and video meetings come on every plan where we include 500 minutes and meter the rest at $0.03, and the same subscription covers team chat, a shared inbox, live chat, email, social accounts and reviews. Its own Trustpilot profile carries 4.5 from more than eight thousand reviews. If your phone work is answering and coordinating rather than dialing a list, none of the limits on this page will ever reach you.
- You are buying a phone system for a company, not a dialer for a desk.
- You want video, chat, email, social and reviews on the same bill.
- Your calling is inbound and high volume, and unlimited minutes matter.
- You will grow into a contact centre and want it from the same vendor.
- A twelve-month term is normal for how you buy software.
If you are buying a company phone system
A lot of people comparing these two want what Nextiva is: one bill covering the phones, the video meetings, the team chat, the shared inbox, live chat on the website and the social accounts, with a contact centre available when the team grows. smrtPhone runs the calling and texting side, with call flows, inbound teams and departments, voicemail and warm transfer behind it - but no video meetings, no team chat, no shared inbox, no live chat and nothing for social accounts or reviews. If you are replacing an office phone system across departments, the products to weigh are Nextiva, RingCentral, 8x8, Dialpad and Zoom Phone.
This page is for the narrower case: a team whose day is outbound calls and texts to a list, with the record in an investor CRM, needing a dialer and a texting allowance that survives contact with a real week of prospecting.
Why outbound teams move off a phone system
-
There was no dialer to move up to
Nextiva sells plans, add-ons and a contact centre, and none of them describes a power, auto or predictive dialer. A team working a bought list is clicking numbers one at a time no matter which tier it buys. smrtDialer runs one to four lines with AI voice detection, voicemail drops logged to the CRM and unlimited campaigns, for $50 or $90 on a $29 seat.
smrtDialer, up to 4 lines -
Texting ran out in the first week
A hundred messages a user a month on Core, and on that plan customers texting you back is a paid add-on. A team that texts leads passes a hundred in a morning, and the plan with unlimited texting is $75 a user. Every smrtPhone seat includes 1,000 SMS and MMS segments, then $0.02, with replies included because they are the same conversation.
1,000 segments in every seat -
The price came with a year attached
The $15 and $25 on the pricing page are annual rates, and the footnote limits them to new customers with 1 to 100 employees signing a paid twelve-month or longer agreement. Month to month they are $23 and $50. smrtPhone is $29 a seat month to month, with the yearly discount optional rather than a condition of the headline.

Built into the CRM you already run
Calls, texts, recordings and dispositions land on the record they belong to, with no connector in between.

What switching actually involves
Numbers port. The question to settle first is what you actually need: if you are running a company phone system with video and chat across departments, smrtPhone replaces only part of that and you should keep it. If the job is dialing and texting a list, that is the part Nextiva does not do at all.
- Port your numbers. They move with you. Nobody has to learn a new number.
- Connect the CRM. Calls, texts, recordings and dispositions start writing to the record.
- Rebuild your call flows. Routing, ring groups, business hours and the DNC applet.
- Run both for a few days. Then move the dialing over once the logging looks right.
How long the port really takes
- Porting takes one to three weeks once the paperwork is in and confirmed. It is faster when your current provider sits on the same underlying carrier we do, and slower if the paperwork comes back rejected over a detail that does not match your carrier record.
- Support does the work. You start it from live chat and the team handles the submission.
- Do not cancel your old provider until the port completes. Your number keeps working throughout.
- Occasionally voice ports a few hours before texting does. It settles by itself.
Questions people ask before switching
Does Nextiva have a power dialer?
No plan on its pricing page describes one, and neither does its contact centre page - not a power dialer, not an auto dialer, not predictive dialing. Nextiva is a business phone and customer experience platform, so working a list means dialing numbers one at a time. smrtDialer runs one to four lines with AI voice detection at $50 or $90 a seat on top of a $29 seat.
How much does Nextiva cost?
Core is $23 a user a month, Engage $50, and Scale $75. The $15 and $25 shown on the pricing page are annual rates, and their own footnote limits those to new customers with 1 to 100 employees signing a paid twelve-month or longer term. XBert, their AI receptionist, is a paid add-on on every plan. smrtPhone is $24 a seat a month billed yearly, or $29 month to month, with smrtDialer at $50 or $90 for the people who dial.
How many texts does Nextiva include?
A hundred messages per user a month on Core, 500 on Engage and unlimited on Scale. On Core, letting customers text your team back is a separate add-on, as are call recording and a 1-800 number. A smrtPhone seat includes 1,000 SMS and MMS segments a month at $29, then $0.02 a segment, with inbound replies part of the same conversation and written to your CRM record.
Does Nextiva integrate with my CRM?
It carries around thirty integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, Microsoft Dynamics, SugarCRM, Zendesk, Bullhorn and GoHighLevel. GoHighLevel is the only investor CRM among them - Podio, DataSift, Left Main REI, InvestorFuse, Realeflow, Invelo, Carrot and Tape are not there. smrtPhone is native to all ten, with the call and the text written to the record.
